Bitac is one of the more than 1,000 companies that participated in Barcelona in Heatlhio, a new event about innovations in health care. Held between May 3rd and 5th, it counted with the presence of patients, health professionals, and companies and institutions from different countries.
The event took place in Pavilion 5 of the facilities that the Fira Barcelona has in Montjuïc. Healthio aims to become a platform to share knowledge and create synergies between health-related companies and entities.
Its organizers structured all of Healthio’s proposals around four areas or routes: well-being, personalized medicine, chronic diseases and aging. For their part, the companies and institutions that attended the event showed the latest novelties in genomics, wearables for health, robotics, medical devices and advances such as 3D bioprinting.
Healthio, a different event about health care
In its first edition, Healthio demonstrated that, beyond trying to empower patients, it does not intend to follow the format of other events in the sector. The clearest example of this is that it had a live demonstration area.
Besides, visitors and participants could choose from one of the four already mentioned thematic routes to arrange and facilitate their visit. Once the one that most interested them was selected, they traveled the paths in groups with the assistance of a guide who explained the highlights of the route.
After this, the participants in each of them were concentrated in one of the five prepared agoras. They held talks, conferences, and workshops. Likewise, visitors who have participated in the routes will be able to present and share their opinions and ideas about health, their care and current and future technological advances.
The exhibition area of the event, called Healthio Arena, had six areas of activity. One of them was specially designed so that doctors, nurses and other health professionals could know the latest advances in medicine.
Another of these areas was prepared for the presentation of new products, technologies, and solutions for the improvement of the patient’s health. There were also activities in a third area to give a glimpse of what the future hospitals will look like. Also, retransmissions of surgical operations were made through streaming.
This congress also included an area for startups, as well as an open innovation market. The latter was designed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and foster relationships between companies.
Collaborators of high prestige in the area of health for Healthio
In the first edition of Healthio, eight reference hospitals collaborated. These include the Vall d’Hebron Hospital, the Hospital Clínic, and the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. There were also 30 patient associations. In their talks, divided into five scenarios, 50 prestigious international experts from the health sector participated.
The event was attended by more than a thousand companies in the health sector, as well as the world of technology applied to health. It also involved more than 5,000 health professionals, as well as several tens of thousands of patients.
